Psychology and clinical translation is a special field where my background and translation experience come together. I hold a BA in Psychology and am currently pursuing a MSc in Clinical Psychology in the Netherlands. This means that my insight into psychology and healthcare goes beyond a linguist's perspective. I understand the context, what the text is trying to convey, who it is for, and what it is meant to do, while staying mindful of cultural nuances and choosing the correct terminology throughout.

Translation and transcreation are not the same thing. Translation carries meaning. Transcreation carries voice, tone and personality. It is what makes a text come alive in another language, what gives it warmth, humour and character so the reader feels it was written for them. When it works, the reader never notices. The text simply feels like it belongs. When it does not, something feels off, even if the reader cannot say exactly what. Getting it right requires knowing the audience and the culture as well as you know the language. This is the work I have been doing for sixteen years, across formats ranging from published books to platform localisation and UX writing for global digital audiences.
